My version of tilting at windmills is to gently boycott American tech firms, where I can. Who knows if people outside the US will always be able to access servers and services? All is fair in love and (trade) war.

Data Migration
It’s probably an overreaction, but my feelings about data privacy have hardened over the last weeks. The Orange One has given me pause on several fronts.

The commonplace notebook. A beautiful name if nothing else. Record anything and everything that prompts you. In many ways, the commonplace notebook is a combination of all of the above.

Shopping

Looking to avoid Amazon has massively reduced my ability to fritter. My bank balance is pleased. I also ditched Apple One, Google One and Netflix. More savings. I was very tempted to subscribe to the Atlantic though.

Babbling

In case you don't know, I regularly babble at a long-suffering friend who has done little to deserve such maltreatment. However, being a resident of Canada, he takes the punishment, edits my terrible audio and publishes it every week under the title "Stationery Adjacent". New episodes drop on a Wednesday wherever you get your podcasts.

This week, we checked very carefully to make sure we hadn't invited anyone onto our super-secure Signal chat. We hadn't, thereby disqualifying ourselves from high office in the United States.
